About

Our Mission

Born from a story of early detection that became a second chance, the Giving Pink Foundation is dedicated to ensuring no woman’s cancer goes unseen. We advocate for education, advanced breast screening, and empowering women to be their own health advocates because what’s unseen can still be there.

Meet the Founder

In 2024, Maegen’s world changed forever. What began as a stage 0 breast cancer diagnosis in her left breast (something considered early and noninvasive) turned out to be the discovery that would ultimately save her life.

During her very first visit with a breast surgeon, Maegen’s doctor felt a lump in her right breast, one that years of imaging and ultrasounds had completely missed. An MRI with contrast revealed the truth: stage 2 invasive ductal carcinoma that had already spread to her lymph nodes. Three tumors invisible on mammogram and ultrasound had gone undetected despite years of extra imaging.

Her cancer was triple positive (HER2+, estrogen+, and progesterone+) with an aggressive growth rate, and the realization was sobering: if the stage 0 cancer hadn’t been found, those tumors could have continued growing silently for years.

Today, Maegen is transforming that experience into purpose through the Giving Pink Foundation, Inc. Her mission is to raise awareness about dense breast tissue and the critical need for advanced screening like MRI, which can reveal what mammograms and ultrasounds sometimes can’t.

“If you have dense breasts, push for an MRI because what’s unseen can still be there.”

Through her foundation, Maegen empowers women to be their own advocates. To ask questions, demand clarity, and understand their unique breast health. Her journey is proof that awareness and persistence save lives, and she’s determined to make sure no woman’s story goes unseen.

1 in 5 breast tumors still go undetected on traditional imaging.
