The Pink Access Fund, in development
A fund to help women pay for breast MRIs
We’re building the Pink Access Fund to provide financial assistance for breast MRIs to women with dense breast tissue who lack coverage or face high deductibles. The fund is not open for requests yet.
$1,000 is what it takes to put one woman in a scan that could save her life.
Who the fund will help
Dense tissue and tumors both appear white on a mammogram, so cancer can hide in plain sight. An MRI can reveal what a mammogram misses, but cost, deductibles and insurance denials keep it out of reach for many women.
- Women with dense breasts You have been told you have dense breast tissue, or your doctor has recommended a breast MRI.
- Facing a cost barrier You lack coverage for the scan, or a high deductible or co-pay puts it out of reach.
- Referred or on your own Your physician can refer you, or you can reach out to us yourself.
What the fund will cover
The cost of the breast MRI itself. The details of how to qualify and apply are still being worked out.
How it will work
Our goal: from referral to scan in weeks, not months.
- Identify A woman with dense breasts is referred by a partner physician, or finds us herself.
- Navigate We help her understand her options, her insurance and her risk.
- Fund The Pink Access Fund covers the cost of her MRI.
- Scan She gets the MRI at a partner imaging center.
- Report Outcomes are tracked and reported back to the donors who made it possible.
For physicians
We’re building a referral network of breast surgeons, OB/GYNs and radiology centers to reach the women who need help. If you’d like to be part of it, we want to hear from you.
